The parish of Our Lady of Grace, Gravesend, as a family of faith motivated by love for God, welcomes all to join us as we worship in the Roman Catholic tradition.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we strive to form ourselves and our children in the love and truths taught by our Savior Jesus Christ and to instill a deep respect for all that God, our Father, has created. We willingly share our time, talents, and treasure through diverse ministries in the service of others.

Priestly Life and Vocations

        "FISHERS OF MEN"

"COME FOLLOW ME, AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN"

MARK 1:17

Today more then ever we need to pray that young men will be inspired by the Holy Spirit to become Priests. While leadership must be developed in its broadest sense, we can never forget that without priestly vocations we cannot have effective leadership in the Church.

The desire to encourage vocations to the priesthood is always a primary concern in the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens. We have been blessed with a seminary system that has served the diocese faithfully for many years and continues to form, prepare, and train men for the priesthood.

Recognizing the changes that have taken place in our culture and society and the challenges of the New Evangelization in our diocese, we see the need to provide even more guidance and assistance for some men who are considering a vocation to priesthood. In our present age, the fostering of vocations to the priesthood and religious life is certainly a ministry deserving of our utmost attention and effort.

We are asking for the help of caring parishioners to foster vocations to the priesthood, pray for the young men that are in Seminaries preparing to be priests and to pray that those who are called will continue to be guided to serve the Lord, His Church and the needs of all.
