Pastor Leach's Biography |

| Rev. Thomas F. Leach was born in Flatbush in July 1947, after his father, Tom Sr. , returned from the Second
World War and he and Dorothea Donoghue finally had their honeymoon. Thomas was educated at St. Brendans, Cathedral Prep, and Cathedral College, before
leaving for the Gregorian University in Rome to study theology with the Jesuits.. As a deacon he helped at St. Mary and St. Michael's Church and at London General Hospital, both in that section later made popular by the BBC show "The East Enders'. Finally, on July 2 1973 Bishop James A. Hickey ordained Fr. Leach and his classmates to the priesthood in St. Peter's Basilica. Father served as a parochial vicar at St. Joseph Patron in Bushwick and at St. Matthias in Ridgewood. While getting his degree in counseling at Iona College, he was assigned as Director of the Diocesan Office of Family Life, and he ran the Pre-Cana program for seven years. Father asked to return to parish work, and he has been pastor of Our Lady of Miracles in Canarsie and, since March 2001, here at Our Lady of Grace |
